You Are God’s Garden

Prophetic Life

Acts 2:18   Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

What are you doing with your little corner of the universe? What are you doing with your handful of earth into which God has breathed his Spirit of life?

We are all assigned a place in God’s garden, a corner of the universe that is ours to nurture and transform, to steward and prepare for the abiding presence of God.

My corner of the universe begins in my own life. Let me ask a question–if you were God (ok, just pretend!), would you want to live in your life? The life you have now? Your everyday activities and schedule? Your relationships, labor, and leisure? If you were God, would you want to live there?

…. The point is–he does! That is exactly where he wants to live! In your life. Every day. Everywhere. All the time.

I don’t have to go somewhere else or do something else to get started. To begin making my life suitable for God’s incarnational presence, I must realize that LOVE is my primary gardening tool. And secondly, recognize that the Sacred Text, the Holy Scriptures, are God’s garden tractor by which he contours the shape of your life, readying you for the plantings he has chosen to blossom and bear fruit through your living.

So, let’s begin, not by asking God to change our circumstances, but to change who we are within them.

Psalms 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
