His Delight: Ladies’ ministry

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great DELIGHT in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
There are several ways that His Delight helps women at Calvary get connected.
DELIGHT NIGHTS
Throughout the year, we host various events which we call, Delight Nights. These can be anything from a night of comedy, Bunco or crafts, dinner with a guest speaker, a worship and ministry night, a scavenger hunt, or possibly a movie night. You just never know!
LADIES’ BIBLE STUDY

One of my favorite, and also, most alarming quotes from one of our pastors is this…
“Things are going to get better and better, worse and worse, faster and faster.” Steve Meeks
I have lived long enough to see the truth in those words. Just think about the time in which we live.
Things are happening at break neck speed. Technological advances, ever changing social norms, governmental upheaval, and unbelievable corruption at every level is taking place around the globe. It reminds me of Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 3:2-4. “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—”
How then shall we live?
As followers of Christ Jesus who has overcome the world (John 16:33), we have that same power living on the inside of us. We can set the bar higher. In fact, we must if we want to contribute to the better and better part of the story.
There is no struggle we will face that did not confront the Savior (Hebrews 4:15). We are called to lead well, wrestle well, and finish well, in a time when others desperately need to see more holy expression of these qualities on display. No one does it perfectly. However, we can follow Jesus’ example. He is the Servant Leader who wrestled, through prayer, with his own destiny on the night of his betrayal. Even so, with the cross set before him he finished well, knowing death was not the end.
We can do the same.

Registration for our 2025 Ladies Retreat with special guest, Esther Flores, is now open!
We are heading back to our favorite place to retreat – Jordan Ranch. You can feel the presence of the Lord as soon as you step onto the property. Here, everything is done with excellence because the heart of Jordan Ranch is to serve people so that there are no hindrances to encountering the Lord while there. They do this well.
Returning as our speaker for 2025, is Esther Flores. Esther, and her husband, Victor, were Youth Pastors for almost 40 years. Victor was Cheryl’s Youth Pastor. Esther has a deep abiding passion for the Gospel, a sincere love for the body of Christ, and a genuine heart for women. She is not afraid to engage strangers in conversation and to talk about Jesus anywhere, at anytime. We are excited to welcome her back to Ladies’ Retreat!
