Lifting Our Voices in Prayer: Pentecost Sunday and Other Prayer Points

Dear Calvary:
Thank you for praying for my health. With your prayers and the work of the doctors, the infection in my body (colitis) is gone. I am feeling much, much better, and I am getting stronger every day.

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday (May 31). God is at work drawing people to himself from all over the world. I believe that one way the Lord is using this time of quarantine and restriction is to reset people. The Lord is not only giving a reset, he is returning hearts to himself from all over the world. Our God is on the move. Part of his work is raising up prayer and fasting over the past months for people to connect deeply with our Lord. And, there is a cry in the hearts of the people of God for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in revival and great awakening.

I want to invite you to join me in prayer. In this prayer guide, I share with you how I have been praying in this season. Please feel free to join me on any of the prayer points as the Lord gives you grace.

And, I want to invite you to join me in prayer for something which is tearing our culture apart. I have participated in several prayer meetings where we are praying about racial reconciliation, systemic injustice, and grieving the needless loss of life of George Floyd and others. We have prayed this way in our recent pastors’ prayer group meeting, during Staff Meeting, during Thursday Morning Intercession, and during the recent Ministers Prayer Network Zoom Prayer meeting. I have included that prayer point in the prayer guide.

We are looking forward to meeting in-person again on Sunday, May 31, at 10:00am. For those of you who are unable to join us yet, I invite you to connect via the live stream. Please see my recent blog post for some important notes regarding our in-person gatherings.

As always, if you have questions or comments, please communicate with me. You can reach me via email or cell (281-686-5291). For regular updates, please check the Calvary website and blog.

Expectantly,

Pastor Jeff McGee
