Our vision is to make a difference in the lives of children, parents, and faculty at Hairgrove Elementary in such a way that Christ is honored and exalted, lives are changed, and children succeed. Everything we do is Christ-centered. We clearly explain that our labor of love is because of the love which Jesus has poured out in and through us. Our efforts at Hairgrove are a partnership between Copperfield Church, Calvary, Hairgrove faculty, parents, children, and area businesses like Energy Capital Credit Union. Such collaboration is challenging and exciting. We are learning as we go.
Our Hairgrove Partnership Team had an idea which we shared with the staff at Hairgrove. We wanted to do something to help increase parental participation and support with the school and children. So, working together with the staff of the school, we came alongside to help make their Open House such an event.
I could share about the packed cafeteria, the incredible efforts of the teachers and staff, the exuberant service of the volunteers, the door prizes, the hundreds of hot dogs, or the awesome results from the evening. But, Darynda Klein, the Principal at Hairgrove, said it much better.
Tonight was absolutely amazing. The amount of people that showed up and participated was like never before!!! I was a little nervous when that long line formed for hot dogs, but the families waited patiently and with a smile on their face.
The food allowed them to sit and listen to the meeting and collect valuable information about their child’s school. Your donations and volunteers TRULY made a difference in the success of tonight’s event.
Your idea to “show” our parents what it is like to help out really worked. We had over 50 people sign up at our different booths. That is truly amazing!!!
As Jeff Chapman said, “No matter what – it is about bringing the families and the school together.”
With your support and GOD’s grace, our volunteers (PTO), and the wonderful staff that I am blessed to work with everyday – tonight was a HUGE success!!!

It is a privilege to partner with you, Calvary, to make a difference in the lives of people. Hairgrove has over 80% at-risk children. When you serve as a mentor, give of your time as a volunteer, or sow your prayers and finances into our partnership with Copperfield Church and with area businesses, you help change the spiritual atmosphere in our area. Christ is exalted. We get to witness to others about the Lord’s love and grace in our lives as the motivation for all we do. Now that’s a significant impact.
