Dear Calvary Family,
Twenty-six years ago, you launched us as missionaries to reach families around the world. Since then, you have faithfully prayed for us, encouraged us, and invested financially in the ministry God called us to through FamilyLife. Together, we have watched God strengthen marriages, restore families, heal relationships, and draw countless people closer to Himself through practical, biblical resources, events, and discipleship opportunities.
As we reflect on these years, our hearts are filled with gratitude. The impact of your partnership extends far beyond what any of us could fully measure this side of eternity. Millions of individuals, marriages, and families around the world have been touched by the hope and truth of Jesus Christ because of your faithful partnership.
Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for serving alongside us in this mission.
Today, we are excited to share that God is leading us into a new season of ministry—one that fills us with anticipation for what He will do in the years ahead.
A New Chapter in God’s Global Story
Could it really be possible for every person on earth to have the opportunity to encounter the life-changing message of Jesus in their own heart language by 2033?
Around the world, churches, mission organizations, Bible translation agencies, and believers are uniting around a bold prayer: that the Great Commission might be fulfilled in our generation. A key goal is to make Scripture, or significant portions of Scripture, available in all 7,200 spoken languages by 2033.
Yet enormous challenges remain. Nearly 3 billion people learn primarily through oral communication or are unable to read, and more than half of the world’s population is under age 30. Reaching them will require engaging, heart-language tools that clearly communicate the Gospel.
That is where Jesus Film plays a vital role.
The vision of Jesus Film is simple yet profound: Resourcing the Body of Christ to Reach Everyone, Everywhere.
Since 1979, Jesus Film has helped bring the Gospel to the nations through heart-language media. The original Jesus film has been translated into more than 2,300 languages and viewed over 2 billion times worldwide. Now, Jesus Film is pursuing one of the most ambitious initiatives in its history—completing translation of the original Jesus film into every remaining language along with an animated feature-length film, The Story of Jesus, designed to engage the next generation with the hope of Christ.
We are humbled and thrilled to have been invited to be part of this extraordinary effort.
Gene will serve as a Project Management Specialist, helping develop and coordinate aspects of the global strategy that equips ministry partners around the world to use these resources effectively. René will help implement a new partnership management system that will support thousands of ministry partners participating in the 2033 vision.
As we look back, we can see God’s hand preparing us for this assignment every step of the way. Our unique skill sets and gifting fit together beautifully in His larger story.
And as we step into this new chapter, we do so with deep gratitude because we know we are not going alone. Your prayers, encouragement, friendship, and financial partnership have helped make every step possible. We are honored to continue serving as your missionaries and are grateful for your continued prayers as we begin this exciting new assignment.
Please pray that God would use this global effort to bring millions more to Himself and that every person, everywhere, would have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel in a language they understand and in a format that connects with their heart.
While our ministry assignment is changing, our calling remains the same—to help people encounter Jesus and experience the transforming power of the Gospel.
Thank you for standing with us for the past 26 years. We are filled with anticipation as we look toward all that God has planned in the years ahead. What a privilege it is to continue serving together until every person has the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus.

We want to begin by saying thank you.
Because of your faithful prayers, encouragement, and financial partnership over the years, God has opened an exciting new chapter for us. After 26 years serving with FamilyLife, we are thrilled to begin our new ministry with Jesus Film Project. Although our assignment has changed, our mission remains the same—helping people encounter Jesus and experience transformed lives. We are deeply grateful that you are part of this journey.
Around the world, something remarkable is happening. As 2033 approaches—marking the 2000th anniversary since Jesus’ death, resurrection, and the giving of the Great Commission—churches, mission organizations, Bible translation agencies, and believers are uniting around an extraordinary vision. What if every person on earth had the opportunity to encounter Jesus in a language and way they could truly understand?
We believe we are living in one of the most exciting seasons in the history of world missions. Never before have so many ministries worked together with such unity, and never before has technology created such incredible opportunities to reach the world with the gospel.
One of Gene’s first assignments has been serving alongside the executive leadership team to help shape Jesus Film Project’s global objectives leading to 2033. Together, we’re helping define measurable goals that will guide ministry efforts so that everyone, everywhere has the opportunity to encounter Jesus in a language that speaks to their heart.
The past several weeks have felt like drinking from a firehose as we learn the incredible scope of this ministry. Every day we’re discovering new ways God is using partnerships, technology, and media to reach people around the world.
Would you pray that God gives us wisdom and discernment as we help shape this work? We are humbled by the opportunity and excited to see what God will accomplish in the years ahead. Most of all, thank you. Your faithful partnership has made this transition possible. Long before we knew where God was leading us next, you stood with us through your prayers, encouragement, and generous support. We truly believe the years ahead may be among the most significant of our ministry, and we are honored to have you serving alongside us.
